Event Capture Systems is excited to announce the recent appointment of Dave Coleman as our new Vice President of Sales. Bringing over five decades of expertise in the pulp, paper, and sales industries, Dave is set to strengthen our company's leadership team and drive our sales strategies forward.
A wealth of industry experience
Dave Coleman joins Event Capture Systems after an illustrious career, with an educational background rooted in the industry. He graduated from North Carolina State University with a B.S. in Pulp and Paper Technology (1967). His journey through the pulp and paper sector began shortly after graduation, building a robust foundation in engineering and operations before transitioning to a career in sales management.
His work experience includes pivotal roles at several major companies:
Brunswick Pulp & Paper, Brunswick, Ga. – Machine Superintendent (1973–1979)
Southwest Forest Industries, Snowflake, Az. – General Paper Mill Superintendent (1979–1980)
St. Regis Paper, Sheldon, Tx. – General Superintendent of #5 & 6 Newsprint Machines (1980–1983)
Boise Cascade, DeRidder, La. – Paper Production Manager (1983–1986)
Mead Paper, Chillicothe, Ohio – Manager of No.12 Machine & Finishing (1986–1992)
Transition to sales leadership
In the early 1990s, Dave transitioned from operations to sales, taking on influential roles in major sales territories and building strong client relationships. His sales career began at Scapa Forming Fabrics (1992–1998), where he managed the Midwest territory. This was followed by leadership positions such as Northern Regional Sales Manager at Voith Fabrics (1998–2000) and Manufacturer’s Representative at the Pete Thomas Company (2000–2002).
His successful sales career continued at J&L Fiber Co. as the Midwest Sales Manager (2002–2007) and at Ecolab (Nalco Water) as an Account Manager (2007–2017). In these roles, he consistently exceeded sales targets, built long-term customer partnerships, and led various sales initiatives to new heights.
Recent accomplishments and future goals
Before joining Event Capture Systems, Dave served as Vice President of Sales North America at ProJet BV from 2022 to 2024. His extensive experience there included overseeing strategic sales operations and expanding market share across the region. His insight into the pulp and paper industry, combined with his business acumen, allowed him to elevate ProJet’s position in North America.
Dave also operated his own consulting business, David A. Coleman LLC, from 2017 to 2022, where he provided papermaking consulting services and represented manufacturers. His deep technical knowledge and proven track record of driving growth make him the ideal fit for the VP of Sales role at Event Capture Systems.
