Solutions that provide camera clarity in hostile environments are mission critical for sheet break and web inspection solutions. Pinhole lenses are one proactive (vs. re-actively cleaning the camera enclosure lens with a wiper/water) option that embeds the small lens in a jet of extinguishing pressurized air from the enclosure.

ECS can now provide true wireless camera options as a standalone rapid troubleshooting tool or part of a larger permanent camera solution. This significant advancement gives the papermaker an outstanding tool to solve sheet break and defect issues faster and with less infrastructure and cost.

In Q3 of 2019 ECS formally released its most comprehensive software update in more than 25 years. Version 16, also called Smart Flex, delivers from the ground up a completely new compression and decompression engine – both in hardware and software. ECS Smart Flex systems can use both legacy GigE cameras as well as smart cameras that compress and process the image at the camera.

In Q1 of 2016, ECS was brought in to improve the Process Monitoring camera system on one of Georgia Pacific’s tissue machine, as well as design a custom web inspection solution around the improvements being made to their dry-end. Foils were being added to cover as many open-draws as possible along the sheet path, leaving no area to place a web inspection beam except for above the reel.
