Chalk Talk 2023 Outlook: Key Insights and Innovations for the Pulp & Paper Industry
Event Capture Systems is excited to announce our Chalk Talk 2023 series! With Brian Mock's 25+ years of experience in the Pulp & Paper industry, our Chalk Talk series is designed to provide essential knowledge, tips, tricks, and insights into this evolving industry.
In this year's Chalk Talk series, Brian Mock will be covering four huge topics that focus on cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions for the Pulp & Paper industry:
How virtualization increases system performance, flexibility, and reduces the total cost of ownership.
Can a Deep Learning Machine Vision solution replace human-derived quality control?
Nested Machine Vision for Paring Data Between A Tissue Machine and Converting Line.
Laser triangulation solutions for long-range and highly accurate paper roll quality control.
Additionally, don't miss Brian's presentation on "Nested Machine Vision for Paring Data Between A Tissue Machine and Converting Line" at TAPPICon 2023. Brian will be presenting on Tuesday, April 25th, in the Tissue Program Track T1.4 between 8:00 am - 10:00 am EST.
During Brian's talk on "Nested Machine Vision for Paring Data Between A Tissue Machine and Converting Line," he will discuss how quality control data can be linked between independent manufacturing processes in a tissue paper mill. The output of the tissue machine (parent roll) serves as the input to the converting line.
Our technology pairs the quality data to the parent roll with RFID technology, so that the defect roll map becomes the set of instructions on the best way to run that same paper on the converting line. With the exception of the camera to capture the defect data on the tissue machine, the entire solution can be nested within existing mill network infrastructure and computer hardware. This design approach significantly minimizes implementation expense and long-term cost of ownership.
Stay tuned to our blog and social media channels for updates and announcements regarding the Chalk Talk 2023 series. We look forward to sharing our knowledge and helping to shape the future of the Paper & Pulp industry.
